Start with your terminal, gate area and whether you are before or after security. A restaurant listed at Orlando International Airport may be inconvenient or inaccessible from your departure area. Use MCO’s official interactive map, then check the restaurant’s current hours.
For passengers with limited time, our recommendation is to choose food in the area you can already access. For someone meeting a traveler, pre-security dining is the more useful starting point. This guide separates those decisions instead of treating every airport restaurant as interchangeable.
Choose your dining area first
| Your situation | Where to start | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Departing from A/B, already through security | The map for your gate area | Whether the restaurant is in that area and open now |
| Departing from Terminal C | Terminal C’s food listings | Exact location, security access and operating hours |
| Meeting someone without flying | A pre-security option | Public access and where your party will meet |
| Arriving and heading into Orlando | Airport dining or an off-airport venue | Baggage collection, transport and restaurant availability |
| Connecting to another flight | Food along your connection route | Boarding time, walking time and any required security checks |
This is a planning table, not a list of guaranteed open venues. It is especially useful when people in the same group have different flights or gate areas.
Food in Terminals A and B
Use the airport map to distinguish the public terminal from the secured gate areas. Searching only for “Terminal B food” can leave you with a venue that requires a different route from the one you need.
A/B has four secured gate areas: 1–29, 30–59, 70–99 and 100–129. The airport’s Getting Around FAQ says to use the checkpoint for your departure gate area. A terminal letter alone does not establish access to a restaurant.
Arriving passengers can sometimes switch between paired areas 1–29/30–59 or 70–99/100–129 immediately after leaving the aircraft, before crossing the security exit. International-arrival restrictions can require exiting and rescreening. This is conditional access, not permission to enter any checkpoint for lunch. Use our A/B gate-area guide for the checkpoint distinction.
Before committing to a sit-down meal, locate your gate and set a leave-the-table time. Allow for walking and boarding rather than using the scheduled departure as the moment you need to arrive. If you have not cleared security, include that step in the plan too.
For an early or late flight, check the individual venue’s listing. The fact that an airport operates around the clock does not establish that its food outlets do.
Terminal C: local names to look up
MCO’s Terminal C overview lists Sunshine Diner by Chef Art Smith, Cask & Larder Public House, Provisions by Cask & Larder, Wine Bar George and several other Central Florida brands. Sunshine Diner is an airport option in Terminal C, not an off-airport neighborhood diner.
For a concrete menu example and gate anchor, use the Terminal C dining guide. Use these names as starting points in the official map. The overview does not by itself confirm today’s hours, menu or your access from a particular gate. We have not rated these venues from personal visits or presented a “best restaurant” ranking.
If you are flying from A/B, do not make a Terminal C detour solely because you like a restaurant name. First check the full route, access requirements and how you will return to your departure area.
Can you eat at MCO without a boarding pass?
The airport identifies the Hyatt Regency hotel’s restaurants as pre-security and accessible to travelers and non-travelers. The hotel is inside Terminal A/B. MCO lists McCoy’s Bar and Grill and Hemisphere Restaurant as dining options there.
This can make hotel dining worth considering for a meeting or meal before entering security. Check each restaurant’s current hours and service arrangements; a public location does not guarantee an available table.
If people are meeting after a flight, agree on the meeting place before choosing a restaurant. A passenger still collecting baggage or completing arrival formalities may not be ready to join a meal when the aircraft lands.
Why an old restaurant list may be wrong
MCO is redeveloping concessions in phases, with its master-plan page describing openings from summer 2026 through late 2028. A brand announced for the project is not necessarily open today.
Find the venue on the current directory, inspect its location and confirm service hours. This guide’s October 3, 2026 source-check date refers to the linked airport pages; it is not a live inventory of every open concession.
Should you leave the airport for food?
Off-airport dining is easier to consider after arrival, before starting your airport journey, or when you have enough time to plan the whole trip. A short connection is a poor setting for an unplanned restaurant detour.
Our restaurants near Orlando airport guide covers Fish On Fire and the decision to go off airport. It explains transport and return-time checks separately from terminal dining. For food inside MCO, keep the airport map open and choose a venue along the route you actually need.
